He has one sister; Tambra and four brothers David, William, Michael and Joseph. Quin was raised a Mormon, however, in 2008 he was baptized a Roman Catholic at St. Rose of Lima, Safford, AZ. He has five children Chelsea, Brittany, John (deceased), Tessarah, and Justin. He speaks English as his native language. He is from North America, a region whose population is largely composed of Americans of Irish/English descent. Quin is of distant Irish/English ancestry in both sides of his family; his great-great-grandparents immigrated to America from Ireland and England.
In regards to his ethnic background, Quin was quoted: "I was born in El Paso, Texas, a border town in America. The town was mainly colonized by Anglo Saxons and Mexicans. I moved to Las Vegas Nevada to begin school at 5 years of age, I learned the English language and the customs and traditions of a true native of Las Vegas. I belong to the sixth generation of my family in America. There’s no better country in the world than America. Its people, the varied cultures, the diversity (...) I am proud of being American."
Musical careerOriginally, Quin wanted to be a professional actor and considered acting for the theatre. While in school, Quin was so short and scrawny that his friends used to call him shrimp and shorty. In 1972, a then-10-year-old Quin performed his first acting role on stage with his father, mother and sister in a play called "The Bus Stop" written by his mother. Quin continued to perform on stage throughout his youth, but decided to join the U.S. Air Force after his graduation from High School. Patriotism was instilled in him that one of the highest honors one can achieve is to serve one's country. He comes from a long line of military volunteers since the civil war. During his U.S. Air Force tour in Alaska, Quin auditioned for and won base talent competitions for singers interested in touring with The Tops in Blue an Air Force sponsored talent group, taking first place at Eielson AFB, AK in 1982. However, it wasn't until 2006 that Quin began his professional musician career.
After earning several awards from the International Society of Poets for his poetry books, Quin decided to put guitar chords to his poetic lyrics and then teamed up with Producer John Mahoney of RavenPheat recording studios in Phoenix, Arizona, debuting his award winning album in 2006, "Brando Quin My Life" Music and Production by RavenPheat and Friends, which included "The Story of My Life" a song written by Neil Diamond and licensed through his company at Stonebridge Entertainment. Diamond was a successful pop music performer, scoring a number of hits in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. As critic William Ruhlmann writes, "as of 2001, he claimed worldwide record sales of 115 million copies, and as of 2002 he was ranked third, behind only Elton John and Barbra Streisand, on the list of the most successful adult contemporary artists in the history of the Billboard chart." As of May 2005 he had sold 120 million records worldwide, including 48 million records in the U.S.
Quin is a member of BMI and currently has over 30 song writing credits listed with them. BMI led by Del R. Bryant, President & CEO is an American performing right organization that represents more than 375,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers in all genres of music. BMI will distribute more than $732 million in royalties for its 2006-2007 fiscal year to the songwriters, composers and copyright owners it represents, an eight percent increase over the prior fiscal year.
His debut album of September 2006 earned Brando the distinction of being nominated for and winning awards for Best Male Vocals, Track of the Day in Experimental Rock, Best Drums in Experimental Rock, Best Lyrics in Experimental, Best Beat in Experimental Rock, Best Mood in Experimental Rock, and Most Original in Experimental Rock at GarageBand records run by CEO Ali Partovi. In 2006 Ali recruited his twin brother Hadi to help start iLike, and today they run iLike (which owns GarageBand) together. Ali is an avid music lover and wannabe guitarist.
An accompanying review by Those Damn Twins, of Seattle Washington stated, "Brando Quin's vocal performances are strong! Something about him reminds me of some kind of Bob Dylan meets Johnny Cash hybrid..."
In 2007 he released a second album titled, "Brando Quin The Journey" which included Bonnie Raitt's classic tune, "I Cant Make You Love Me" written by Allen Shamblin and Mike Reid, licensed through BMI, ICG and Almo Music Corp..Bonnie Lynn Raitt (born November 8, 1949) is a nine-time Grammy award-winning American blues singer-songwriter who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Quin's CD "Crossings" was released in April 2008. "Brando Quin and RavenPheat LIVE!" A live concert music video is in the pre-production stages set to be filmed in November 1st, 2008 in Safford, Arizona at "The Center for the Arts".
According to Capitol Basement of Seattle WA, "Brandos music is distinct and different...As he begins his song you are reminded of Neil Young and Willie Nelson telling a simple but credible tale. You know immediately that the songwriting is original and intelligent. As soon as you get used to his voice, a female voice enters the mix. The surprising duet’s with contrasting but blended vocals of a male and female duo make his songs distinct and different. (Michele Sarrett’s) voice creates an eerie feeling of an individual journey in an uncomfortable situation. She reminds you of Lucinda Williams or the female singer in Cowboy Junkies. People traveling from town to town as ordinary life goes by is real, sad and keeps the listener an interested audience. These songs are an unusual mix and the skilled bass player assists in creating a specific mood."
Quin has also worked with many acclaimed Hollywood film directors from 1993-1997 studying film while as a background artist, such as Robert Zemeckis, David Carson, Rick Kolbe, Chuck Russell, Tony Scott, Kathryn Bigelow, Russell Mulcahy, Tim Burton, Stewart Orme, John Murlowski and David L. Stanton among others.

Susan Giffin had gotten hold of a copy of Quin's novel, "The Master Painter" and found it to be, "A fascinating and magical story!" Quin and Giffin were introduced and collaborated on his novel and the screenplay he had written based on the book. Quin said, "Susan, if you could edit and combine the novel I have written with the screenplay I've written based upon the novel, I think we would have a hell of a story to tell." Giffin agreed, and together they indeed have woven a magical book called, "The Master Painter" now also published by The AuthorHouse which has helped more than 30,000 authors put their voice in print. AuthorHouse Vice President Terry Dwyer who directs U.S. Author Services and coordinates North American Sales and Business Development at AuthorHouse agreed Quins novel was fitting for their services. Dwyer previously served in a variety of executive positions with publishing, consumer and technology companies including Chief Operating Officer with Columbia House and Macmillan Publishing. While at MacMillan, Dwyer helped the company grow from $60 to $500 million in just 8 years including a 20% annual growth in international sales. He was instrumental in the significant expansion of the computer book category including imprints such as Que, The Complete Idiots Guide series, and Sams Publishing. In January 2007 AuthorHouse celebrated ten years in the

improvement of companies representing Quin compared to the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Quin Stock Index was up 15% during the interval of time between May and July of 2007, substantially surpassing the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which was up just 8.2%.
Social activismQuin has long been a social activist, lending his support and image for a number of charities and humanitarian causes like The Veterans of Foreign Wars who support our troops at home and abroad providing special services as well as burial details for disabled and deceased veterans without payment. He was recently seen in Safford, AZ at, "The Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial" handing out free copies of his CD's to Vietnam Veterans and their families. "The Moving Wall" is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for more than twenty years. When John Devitt attended the 1982 dedication in Washington, he felt the positive power of "The Wall." He vowed to share that experience with those who did not have the opportunity to go to Washington.

Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Pamela Anderson, Sophia Loren, Brad Pitt and George Clooney were the most mentioned. Brando Quin has never undergone plastic surgery and is a strong advocate of a persons natural look and appeal however he does advocate freedom of choice when it comes to matters of the heart which he admits sometimes includes plastic surgery.

Like many musician/actors he moved from his original Talent Agency, The Victor Kruglov Talent Agency to Goldman and Associates then back to The Victor Kruglov Talent Agency. He stated the only reason he changed agencies was due to location and that both agencies handled his affairs with uncompromising integrity. The Kruglov Talent agency is located in Hollywood CA the Goldman and Associates agency is located in Las Vegas, NV.
Solomon School "anti-Brando" targetIn 2007, during the taping of The (nfls) Sofa League of Heroes Quin had invited an elementary school football team and their fans to the shoot to be part of the crowd scenes. After the editing process had been completed the students were basically edited out of the video, this sparked a Citizens of Solomon YouTube protest against Brando for not including them in the final cut version of the music video. He was also contacted by the National Football League who stated he could not use their logo design or the capitalized initials NFL to promote this music video. Quin responded by making a behind the scenes music video which included the Solomon Elementary students and placed the initials (nfl) as lower case also placing them inside parentheses.
"I am the biggest NFL football fan in the world, I named my firstborn son (who tragically died young) after John Elway of the Denver Broncos! he said after hearing the controversial news. I was just doing my job as a performer and a football fan. I invited those students after hearing the story about their team, who had not won a football game for years but played every game with heart. In the final game of the 2007 season they won their home game. I wanted to reward
their team the only way I know how to by inviting them to my music video shoot. I didn't do the editing for this music video, Im not sure the kids understand that process isnt always left up to the entertainer. As far as the use of the NFL letters go I feel we reached a professional compromise and as far as Im concerned the matter is behind us. I'll still enjoy watching the NFL football season during 2008-2009 and beyond.
Reaction to Pope Benedict XVI speech regarding the violence in IraqAlthough Quin wasn't baptized a Roman Catholic until 2008 at St. Rose of Lima in Safford, Arizona he was not new to serving a member of the Catholic Church. While a member of the U.S. Marine Corps serving on the front lines of combat in Kuwait during Operations Desert Shield/Storm Quin was assigned as the body guard to his units Catholic Priest Chaplain Dubois. During a recent speech in St. Peters Square Pope Benedict cried, "Stop the massacres! Stop the violence! Stop the hatred in Iraq!" That was the fervent appeal of Pope Benedict XVI, speaking to the faithful in St. Peter’s Square on Palm Sunday. I agree with Pope Benedict XVI with regards to our current situation in Iraq. If governments like people could settle their differences in a peaceful manner instead of hostility we'd all be living in a beautiful never ending garden.
The Brando prefers France over America rumorWhen Quin toured Europe during a year long excursion during the millennium (1999-2000) he fell in love with France. He was quoted as saying, France and her people are the most beautiful culture I have ever seen. Her cities, and bays are magnificent, the people and their language of love is everywhere
and if I ever settle down and find a place to call my own, it will be somewhere in France. Quin has since then stated, "My comments toward France were never meant to demean America or Americans, here in America we represent so many facets of the
world, and her diversity has never diminished in my opinion, America is the great melting pot and always will be in my heart, regardless of where I am touring or living."
PoliticsIn 2008 Quin joined Senator John McCain's campaign as a volunteer for his nomination as President of The United States of America. Quin was one of the supporters at McCain's campaign headquarters in Concord, NH during the 2007 primaries making telephone calls, waving vote for John McCain signs and shaking voters hands. Quin was quoted, "I am a true believer in John McCain (R), I served under President Reagan while in the U.S. Air Force and we are both admirers of that great man. There was a time when my family needed the support of Senator McCain and he and his office came to our aid, I will never forget that. I know for a fact he is a man of honor and integrity and this country would benefit greatly from his experiences as our nations President".
