Caergollo 1 - 2006
I'm well into the latest novel, Caergollo, and hope it will be out later this year. Isolde comes to London from Belfast to do a degree in journalism, gets herself a job with a big London newspaper. Then, after 9/11 she is horrified by the security clampdown, police with guns all over London, the bomb squad rushing about - it reminds her of The Troubles in Belfast when she was growing up, she doesn't want to be there.
An old friend, Darshan, emails her, asking her to come down and work with him in his music shop in Exeter, a beautiful, quiet city on the other side of England. She loves music, especially folk and mediaeval, goes down, likes it and joins Darshan. She does well and has a sideline with the local radio station, doing interviews. They bring the international organist, Mark King, down to do a concert in the cathedral. Isolde meets him, does an interview and finds that he owns the house where Tristan Tallorc, the famous folksinger, lived. Isolde has always loved Tallorc's music ... and there was serious chemistry between her and Mark. He invites her down to Cornwall, Isolde goes.
There's a presence in the house, and Isolde keeps seeing a strange man there ... who is he? Is it Tallorc, come back? What does he want with Isolde? She dreams of him ...
No, I'm not going to tell you the whole story here, but I'm writing like mad and you'll be able to read it later this year.
