Harrison White's Blog
2006 Aug 05 Here are a few new offerings for you: Beach, the story of a suicide, eventually to be conceptualized into a Rock Opera; Messiah I, a classic 'beat style' poem; and finally, a thought novel called She's the Sea about an Aphrodite of Love and a falling out.
2006 Jun 30 I have just added a new book to the mix, a pocket size book, featuring original fiction by E. Steele and Harrison White. The main purpose of the book, however, is the essay in the front, on the concept of Total Art. The rest is just an added bonus for reading the first part. Some of the included stories and poems are: Father Rape Cycle Diamond inthe Rough The New Revolution is Come Okay Boy & many more Some painting and drawing is also included, just to stave off the boredom. There is more of a focus on the writings though. So, buy a copy of Total Art: A Manifesto today, and enjoy it forever and ever. Amen.
2005 Dec 23 Here it is, the first writing on these writings that are in the store. Each and everything herein is specially picked by Miss E. Steele, and is in fact included as the cream of the crop. A future development will be a play, the script published here on Lulu, with essays and notes from the writer. And possibly some production notes, if the play "Electra" gets that far before complete editing. Anyways, a brief description of the products that E. Steele Books offers for the wary or unwary traveller who even stops at such a sight as this. For, as we claim, E. Steele Books is about the expanse of the writing genre, defying convention for reason. A PAMPHLET of Reflections on my {Weak} Gender is a book of poetry taking a critical look at the feminist movement in the post gulf war enviroment, closely examining and concluding that too many feminists in fact have become 'feminazis' and pretending intellectualism while in fact knowing nothing at all. The work does not decry feminism, but is a parody of both feminist attitude, and the response towards real feminism, from a male. A Romance: The Tailor's Daughter is a short story, by Harrison White, that describes the romantic advances of a member of parliment in the early Victorian age, towards a daughter of the revolution for woman's sufferage, as well as to a well-to-do tailor, who provides gentlemen's garmets. The underlying theme is nothing... the meaning is an excersize in genre. The Gospel of Mary M; Beloved of E. Steele is a Jesus document, a retelling in allegory of the Jesus story as the writer sees it, using the pseudnym of Mary M to further the point of view of the story. Includes references to a female Jesus, as well as Lesbianism and equality for all. The SurrealMod Art Calender is made up of artwork taken from that same SurrealMod's postings on DeviantArt.com and patched together each in theme with a certain month. The style of art should be both sickening and enjoying, showcasing the vomit-naseau approach that SurrealMod intends: a mix between Tristan Tzara, Munch, and R. Crumb. How to Write like Sylvia Plath (Without marrying some asshole first, or resorting to mock jewry) is a short and scathing attack on all those that find meaning in the Bell Jar woman's terrible poetry. "Daddy" is considered one of the best works of this set back to female poetry, and inspires many generations into more self-loathing than is neccesary. Also, a critique, in parts, of the Livejournal generation, which believes they too should cut into their onion thumbs. The Harrison White Songbooke is a collection of song-poems written for spoken word originally, with the themes of the Dying American dream and the power-line signs that take over. Once again, vomit-naseau is spoken too, and hopefully, the words inspire the same sickness felt within the writer at the time. 14 Poems & Others is a rant collection of poems, also written for spoken word. In this, the Power Line motif of the take over of America by the machinery is completely evident. The world may be saved with sex, it is argued. There is no more than that, really. The world is sickened by powerlines, and so F---ing them down will save us all. Finally, Anti-3 is an old thought novel, envisioned as a screenplay or Rock Opera. The lyrics are placed next to comic-cartoon poor visuals, and hopefully inspire music and the sickness of a post-apocalypse wasteland, where the action is set. The story deals with a groupd of Three, a Trinity, fighting against Anti-3, the one who pushed the button to cause the End of the World.
