Doug Hughes

This marks the 20th consecutive year that Doug and Diane Hughes have put together a Christmas newsletter in booklet form. Typically, they are 16 pages and small enough to fit into an invitation envelope. This year, however, they are celebrating their silver wedding anniversary and decided to put together a retrospective of all those past years, for the enjoyment of friends and relatives who have not been on their distribution list since the beginning. The end result? Until someone proves them wrong, they're claiming the title of "World's Longest Christmas Newsletter," and one of the most entertaining.

"Getting a Hughes Newsletter for Christmas would be like getting a 'Come on over to the house for dinner' invitation - from the head chef of a five star restaurant." - Ted Pack

Hughes News 2005
The Hughes News is an annual Christmas newsletter published by Doug and Diane Hughes of Santa Clara, CA. To mark their silver anniversary, they reprise the family's best material from the past quarter century. The end result? The "World's Longest Christmas Newsletter!" Blend the joy of Kids Say The Darndest Things with song parody hilarity to rival Billy Crystal at the Oscars. Sprinkle with great photos, humorous anecdotes, and Christmas stories, and you have a family keepsake for the ages, and a template for what holiday letters could be. “Getting a Hughes Newsletter for Christmas would be like getting a ‘Come on over to the house for dinner’ invitation from the head chef of five-star restaurant.” — Ted Pack “This is a landmark in the history of Christmas newsletters. It must also be a world record – and one likely to stand for years to come.” — Bob Young, CEO of Lulu
