You know that CD I have been on about, “Trying to Keep an Open Mind”? Well it’s done…What’s the connection between the CD and the weather? I was hoping to get it done for the Winter Solstice and celebrate it with the track “Standing Still Sun”but unplanned things happened. So, appropriately as I watch the snow falling and the temperature is going to plunge for the second time this winter (sic) here in Toronto, it will be welcomed in with the track “Wintertime”not to mention the rapidly approaching Groundhog Day. This Groundhog Day is particularly auspicious as it coincides with a full moon and you must hear “The Groundhog Day Slaughter”. A damning indictment of NAFTA, Global Warming, conspicuous greed, revenge, sex, conspiracy…sex? Have I got your attention?

It is the Winter Solstice and on the longest night of the year I had lots of time to put the finishing touches on my first CD, "Trying to Keep an Open Mind - Songs and Poems by John Warren".

I will be publishing it tonight and will be available tomorrow on my shop here.

On Sat. Dec. 16th I unleashed my new CD, "Trying to Keep an Open Mind (the Roughly Speaking Version)" on a totally unexpecting group of Christmas revellers (family & friends). And bouyed by the good food and good drink my shameless blitz was a great success! Hopefully the next morning their enthusiasm still lingers.Unfortunately in my enthusiasm, I gave them the wrong link to my store here, so a 1000 apologies again when you read this.

Did you notice the date? According to this it's Halloween!

Most auspicious timing as Red Rocket Roll's message may delay the Environmental Apocalypse (aka Bush's Global Shock 'n Awe) by another nanosecond!
