My name is Linda Jackson and I have been designing and publishing my knitted textile designs under the name of Artika Designs since 1990. These can be seen on my website www.Artika.co.uk. As a life long needlework enthusiast myself, addicted to knitting, both hand and machine, crochet, embroidery, patchwork, quilting and rug making, I am always inspired by the sight of an exquisite fabric or textile design. I am currently working on knotwork designs for knitters and needleworkers and posting up the designs little by little. You will find both a U.S. letter-size version and an A4 version of all the pattern sheets. The e-book format caters for publications with a small number of pages, such as patterns, so it is now possible to publish designs individually or in very small groups, so crafters can buy only the ones that particularly interest them rather than buying a whole collection. A bit like music buying, pattern buying is now "pick and mix"! Eventually however I hope to group the knotworks into collections (in addition to having the designs available individually) so that those wanting to buy a larger number of designs can do so economically.

Ikat Designs for hand knitters

The stitchpatterns are inspired by the ikat style of fabric design, based on the distinctive appearance for which the ikat weaving tradition is so well known. Knit and Stitches US Calendar 2008
This is the US version of the 2008 Knit and Stitches calendar and knitters and needleworkers can still use the design charts for their projects.
All the fourteen designs come with a color chart, so that knitting and stitching enthusiasts can re-create the designs at home for personal use.
