I've been receiving lulu emails for quite awhile now and I don't fully understand how to go about getting my book proof read then published. I have one already completed, with some revision still ongoing. I had one knock back from a well known company and I know that knock backs are quite common. This was many years ago and I never submitted it again due to family commitments. I am writing another one now, but I'd like to know in advance what is required to get my work out there, then published. My passion has always been writing and because I have such a vivid imagination, a creative mind and the words flow when I start writing (or typing) I'd like to one day see my work on the shelves where I can give others the same pleasure it has given me

Hi everyone,

On behalf of the Newsletter Team (me) I'm really sorry for the flub-ups in this past newsletter. I am human and make mistakes and this one I didn't realize them until it is too late. While my proofing eyes fail me sometimes, I am working on creating a much better newsletter for next month. Please accept my apologies for this. Also, if you have any suggestions for topics you would like covered in the newsletter feel free to let me know those as well. Send an email to privacy[at]lulu.com. Thanks and so sorry for the mix ups.

Starla-Thanks for your information! If you are interested in publishing with Lulu.com, check out the Lulu Demo: http://www.lulu.com/en/about/demo.php. This answers LOTS of questions for first time self-publishers. Your website looks great-why not make it into a book?

I don't know where to send this, so I am sending it the best I can.

Some of your questions:

• Tell us about yourself and your Lulu project

I am 67 years old and divorced, so I am a stay-at-home person.

I have a novel on line ("The Adventures of Lizzie Jane") that I would like to get published, but I do not know how to go about doing it. I have revised the entire story and posted it on Fictioneer.org
http://www.fictioneer.org/content/adventures-lizzie-jane

It may not be worth publishing, but anyone can check the URL above and decide.

• What inspired you to create your project? [And/or] How did you first become interested in the subject of your project?

I have always loved to write and found out the best way to write a novel for me is write a serial and put it all together when finished.

• How does Lulu make possible for you what previously might have been impossible/very difficult?

So far, it is not published because I don't how to get it published (what is required, etc.)

• Are there any colorful, unusual/offbeat, surprising, amusing details, facts

The story is very unusual. It is a sweet sentimental story about hillbillie life, with a horror chapter, a science fiction section, a girl trying to regain her memory, and romance. Also, there is a Christian theme running through the story.

Love,
Starla Anne Lowry

Is it possible to create my book off-line and then load it for publishing? I would like to be able to do much of my layout and writing at a location where I don't have e-mail access.
