Congratulations on your great idea and on bringing it to fruition! You are right about classes on writing memoirs being easy to find and about the next logical step being to publish. I would put my father’s writing in the category of folk art, but his stories are wonderful! I believe that any elder, who has taken the time to write, deserves to be published and read. How wonderful that you helped the voices of the elders to be heard by many. It is an important contribution to human civilization and in understanding who we are. I would like to mention also that writing is a form of self-expression and it need not be a Pulitzer winning work in order to be published. The lives, the journeys and the stories of those before us are a means to inspire, to teach and to encourage those following them. Once again, thank you for sharing this story! That was inspiring!
