  1. Would this code also apply if one or more of the books is an e-book?

  2. Adam Guida

Hi Mark. Good question. But I believe that these offers apply only to printed items.

In terms of e-books, you’d have to check with the author. Since the cost of e-books is determined completely by the author, I might try to contact them through their storefront and see if they’d be willing to offer a sale priced version at some point in the future.

    Hope this helps.

  3. I AM the author of the book I’m trying to promote, which is why I’m interested. If a sale can drive people to notice it, I’m all for it, but if it doesn’t apply to me, I can’t use it.

Ahh.. Yea. It really wouldn’t be right of us to discount or reduce the royalty you set. However we have kicked around the idea allowing authors to create their own coupons to discount a portion of their royalty if they choose.

Either way, I’d be interested in any ideas or comments on this topic and would pass them up to see what we can do in the future.

    Thanks,
    Adam

  5. So, how does this work for physical books? SOMEONE’S taking the “cut” there, just the same as with e-books. What makes e-books different?

Just to put my two cents in … I would LOVE the option of offering coupons or discounts for my own products. The sooner the better!!!!

    Hi Mark,

I think you misunderstood. The discount is applied to the print costs (binding+pages) of the book, not the additional royalty you set as an author. Since their is no print cost associated with an ebook, no discount is applicable.

    Hope this clears things up.

  8. I’m sure I have indeed misunderstood, but based on the text of the offers as I’m reading them, I’m not at all sure how I should be reading it correctly. That’s why I’m asking in the first place.

  9. In an effort for clarity, here is the entirety of the “fine print” I can find on this particular offer:

I see nothing here that implies printing costs, binding, or anything else that indicates that e-books should be excluded. How am I to know that I can’t tell people that this would apply to my e-book without someone in the know like you telling me that it doesn’t?

  10. I just ordered four books and used the code. I lurve these discount offers. More, please and thank you.

Does this only apply if it is four copies of one book? or can you get four separate books? I’m assuming probably one book, but thought I’d ask. Also the coupons for individual users would be great, it would give me an option of giving schools the ability to get a lower price, without trying to drop the price just for them, or going through a weird ordering process. I would want the ability to choose between all products receive the discount, one product receives it. although all products would be a good start, would be nice to be able to choose separate discounts too, in case you want to give 4% to one group, and say 1% to another. Thanks a bunch

    Need more coupons.
Coupons are great. Need more offers….

    Thanks
