    I’d like you to include notes on what changes and upgrades you’ve been working on, and what thoughts you’ve had regarding those changes. I’m not crazy about surprises. If you’re thinking of changing something, some of us would like to have some input on those changes.

    Patricia,

    We currently send out newsletters to customers that have opted into receiving them. The point of this post is exactly what you mentioned: for our customers to give us input on what they’d like to see in those newsletters and what kinds of information would be the most beneficial to them/you. We’re all ears, so if there is something you just know would help you out, like more tips, or more motivational author stories, then please let us know.

  3. I’d honestly like to see a little more help or info on marketing graphic novels. Both comic and manga. It’s a hard market and even harder to find decent info on. I’ve always found lulu.com to be the most informative and I love the newsletters. It’s one of very few that I consistently read.

    I would like to see how many books of mine have been sold and when do I receive the money that was collected from each book? Is it once a year or what?

    Old guy whose life has included a variety of relationships with females. IN LOVE or
    ( similar ) two or three times … brought me to a romantic meandering or two. Styles of inspiration: Walter Benton, then more recently, Peter McWilliams. Wondered if there was sense in publishing and found Lulu. Haven’t seriously thought about it since, but feel the connection is “A Lulu” .. old expression, don’t know its parentage .. you might work it into your “Newsletter” title??

    I would like to see your publishing category costs vs. services. How much and what type of editing support do you provide?

    I think that it would be great to revamp the title to, perhaps ” The Newsworthy”. I would also like to hear about getting some dedication and backing from our publisher of choice to promote our writing endeavours, thus ensuring our return. Promoting our blogs to make other writers aware of them as well as gaining additional readers benfits us both.I have a blog and would like to encourage other writers to join me for some fun. If you would like to start with me that would be fantastic! http://www.justbecausepoetry.com/blog I write because I must, please read because you enjoy. Thank you Lu Lu.~ Rena Louise

  13. Hello;
    I began a self-published author with Lulu.com from its very early years. I love the convenience, I love the ease in uploading files, I especially love the quality of the products shipped out. Perhaps the cost may be slightly higher depending on quantity ordered; which project you do and what is in the project, but well worth having a website. I have sold hundreds of books now and have been getting feedback from distant relatives and cousins everywhere around the globe. I am a genealogist and write family history books mainly. By having a website with lulu and being a self-publisher I am able to get my research into the hands of many others who might connect to an individual in the books.
    My suggestion for the newsletter is to continue high lighting some books, or projects, best sellers too. Have a column with some training or a column named “Let us teach you, its easy to be a self-published author.” Include a savings code in the newsletter to make sure everyone checks their newsletter each new month. Remember the holidays for the month and highlight some books or projects about that holiday. And, most important, place a calendar in the newsletter to let us know where lulu will be at conventions, or special training, etc. That way we can travel and meet some of you. Another suggestion is for Lulu, itself, to sponsor a Special Annual Convention for all its self-published authors and have special classes, booths about graphics or training, come meet the best selling books and authors and allow us, the authors to meet Lulu and provide feedback or suggestions. You can have a lulu products booth so we could buy stickers, and other promotional tools to help us when we are selling our books.
    Bring back the 24 hr support on-line to have immediate help for your authors.
    Anyway, hope maybe one of these suggestions might help. I love lulu.com and I’m glad to be a self-published author.

    thus enabling private operators to offer their online
