  2. Hello Paul:

I’ve been using LULU now for, I don’t know, probably better than 25 years and haven’t hardly sold a book. ‘Am I that bad? I’ve published six books through LULU, bought a few myself and sold them out the front door of my home, but I just can’t seem to sell any through the LULU “Author’s Spotlight” site.
I’ve had English teachers tell me some of my writings are real works of genius, fantastic and could they use them in their teaching.
I don’t know what to do. I am not wealthy. I cannot afford to hire someone to push them.
I can’t afford to get out and go to conventions.
Do you have any suggestions? 2. Hi Mike,

There’s no simple answer to marketing a book. It takes a lot of time, energy, and probably some money.
If you have educators interested in using your work, that’s a great place to start. Network through those teachers to connect with readers. Same for social media.
I also suggest talking to your local bookstore. See if they will host a signing or sell books on commission.
You can find a range of more in depth advice on this blog, as well as through other publishing professionals across the web. The most important thing is the willingness to commit to your marketing plan and the follow through to keep up with it.
Best of luck selling your books!
