Jon Sorensen

Jon Sorensen started his career as a film-maker in the miniatures and visual effects department on the original movie of "Alien" (Ridley Scott 1979). The film won the Oscar for best Visual Effects. His subsequent work included "The Empire Strikes Back", "Dark Crystal", "Excalibur", "Superman 2", and "Dragonslayer" and "Watcher In The Woods" for Disney and many assignments in television drama and commercials before embarking on his own film projects "A Return To Love" (1996), "Alien Blood" (2000). Sorensen signed his first non-exclusive record contract in January 2007 after only 2 months on the "socialising network" My Space. Occasional Free music samples will appear on this Site from time to time for various causes, charities and special events. Sorensen retains a real regard and affection for Lulu.com. His very first music album, the original version of his very highly praised "Rendlesham Forest" (to be re-released in 2009 by Los Angeles label Solaris Records), emerged from Lulu in 2006. Working to incredibly high standards of production, Lulu has given voice to emerging writers such as science-fiction author John Coppinger, social campaigners such as Stanley Monteith, (Stan runs a tireless talk-radio station in Monterey Bay, California called Radio Liberty), plus the current New York Times bestseller "The Shack", which first saw the light of day on Lulu, and the work of many poets including Alan Obertelle. Other musicians who launched from Lulu have included techno artist Clifton Getliffe/Soundlab, now recording with great and prolific success on the Electrogroove Label. Sorensen will continue to make available the occasional full track free download plus free downloadable previews of his albums on Lulu.com, which continues to do a great job for emerging talents.
