When should I request a bulk printing quote?

Lulu.com offers custom bulk quotes for orders between 250 and 2,500 copies of a single title.

Which products are eligible for bulk discounts?

Custom bulk quotes are available for all Lulu products, including Lulu Studio photo books and calendars.

Are bulk discounts available for quantities less than 250 copies?

Yes.  The Lulu website automatically discounts books when they are added to your shopping cart and Lulu will periodically offer additional savings through discount codes.  Please visit the Current Specials tab to see our current promotions.  For quantities of 250 or more, fill out the form to the left for a custom quote.

Do I need to order a proof copy before printing my bulk order?

Yes.  You are required to purchase one proof copy of your book to be sure that it prints exactly the way you want it to print.  You may simply add a book to your shopping cart and checkout.  To view the pricing for printing one copy (as well as printing multiple copies) please view the Lulu Book Cost Calculator.

How much would I normally be paying for my books without the custom bulk discount?

The Lulu website already discounts all products.  However, additional discounts may be available for your book.  Please fill out the form to the left to contact our Bulk Orders Department and receive a quote.  You can use the Lulu Book Cost Calculator to see what the normal price per book would cost you.

How long will it take to produce my bulk order?

Orders of 100 to 1000 books will generally take between 5 and 10 business days to print.  For orders of over 1000, production time will be determined on a per order basis with the author.

Will my bulk order books look like every other order I get?

Yes.  Orders of 1 or 1000 books will be printed on the exact same machines ensuring that the final book will always look exactly the way you want.  For orders of 2000 and more, we do offer an offset printing option where the final printed book is comparable, but not exactly the same as smaller orders.

Why would I want to order books in bulk?

There are many reasons people order large quantities of books.  Some people need inventory to sell at events or signings while others order in large quantities to reduce their print costs and make more royalties on each sale of their book.  While Lulu will always be able to provide print on demand services, we will strive to offer the most cost effective bulk printing possible.
