More than four years ago, and almost a year before the 2000 presidential election, I put up a website proposing that George W Bush was the Antichrist. Tragically, nobody listened. Now the World Trade Center has been hauled off for scrap and our nation is fighting a holy war in the Middle East. The question is: how can we achieve victory over the ultimate evil in the world (terrorism), without recognizing the kind of deception that is the hallmark of the Antichrist? The Good News for Lesbians, Gays & Straights
Instead of using love to dispel fear, many Christians are still using a few misunderstood references in Bible to justify their most irrational fears, encourage bigotry, and ultimately nullify the Gospel of Christ. The “Good News” is that God created every person equally in His image, and Jesus came to preach the Gospel to the poor and persecuted. I look at the scriptures in a manner consistent with this central Gospel theme - a message of love, tolerance, hope, and human equality.
