Basic Doctrine
Quality Bible Study material for inmates. This course is presented in six lessons which could easily be expanded as the leader wishes. But since there is often a rapid turnover in the classes in jail and prison, we have kept these to the following doctrines:
DOCTRINE OF REVELATION, DOCTRINE OF GOD; DOCTRINE OF JESUS CHRIST; DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT; DOCTRINES OF SIN, SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION; & DOCTRINES OF HEAVEN AND HELL
These are designed to be copied as many times as needed in order to save the cost of buying individual workbooks. Another feature is that even though they are appropriate for any Bible study, they are primarily geared to inmates. The material is self-explanatory for a person familiar with Bible study but anyone studying the Bible for the first time would probably need the help of a good teacher. We consider these as basic training for Christians. Most of this material is available in a good study Bible or reference books but inmates usually cannot afford such resources.

Interpreting The Bible
Many of the misunderstandings that people have with the Bible are due to their system of interpretation. This course teaches the historical/grammatical system of interpretation. We emphasize that many of the verses of the Bible are clear in themselves and need no interpretation. However, wherever there are questions, we must be willing to examine our system of interpretation to be sure we are consistent with all of the Bible and true to its own interpretation. We emphasize the literal interpretation except where it is obvious that the Bible is using figures of speech.

Bible Overview
This is a survey of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation with an emphasis on the key people: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Saul, David, selected prophets in the Old Testament, Jesus, and the Apostles. Paul’s four missionary journeys in the New Testament are also covered. Timelines are given for the entire Bible and a brief description of each book of the Bible. The course includes many maps. The approach for this study is to focus on key people when studying the Bible for the first tim and then fill in the blanks in later studies.
