Michael Wegman

Michael Wegman is the son of a career U.S. Air Force aviator and a school teacher. In 1978 after a short stint as a shoe salesman, Michael enlisted in the United States Navy and became a nuclear submarine electrician and navy diver. In 1985 he was selected to attend Auburn University where he received a commission as a distinguished naval graduate. After two shipboard tours and a shore tour teaching in the Department of Naval Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Michael transfered to the Naval Reserve with a new Master's Degree in Business. Known as "the Mad Stock Genius" by his colleagues, Michael's successful career as a stock broker with the nation's fourth largest stock brokerage firm included managing hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of client accounts. Pursuing specialized financial certifications as a registered investment advisor, and chartered retirement planning counselor, he earned top honors as a "million dollar producer" with six of the world's largest financial services companies. From 1994-2008, he delivered over 100 seminars on investment topics ranging from how to fund college, getting out of debt, diversifying your portfolio, and managing investment risk. Active in politics at the state and local level, he has served as speechwriter and campaign manager for several candidates running for state congressional office. Michael is also an active member of the North Carolina Writer’s Network. An avid skier, scuba diver, and runner, Michael loves the outdoors where he always finds inspiration. As a senior naval reserve officer, Michael has served as a commanding officer four times and recently completed tours in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the Kuwaiti Desert, and Naples Italy. His company, Pennies from Heaven, publishes a quarterly newsletter and a HOW TO guide to help investors unlock the potential of investing in low priced stocks.
