Chaplain David J. Fair D. Min.

With recent abductions and murders by sexual predators, Police Chaplains have their hands full assisting grieving families and communities. One such minister, veteran Police Chaplain Dave Fair, has just released his new book, Mastering Law Enforcement Chaplaincy. With stories ripped from the headlines, of his, over 15 years in Ministry. Fair's book is written to assist Chaplains in learning to assist families through tragedy. In the touching stories such as the death of children and the loss of a police officer, among others, anyone would find this book helpful in assisting families and friends in grief and loss. It’s an easy read yet compelling as it shows how Faith and the human spirit can prevail in times of trouble. Fair, who was deployed to Ground Zero after 911 as a Chaplain, was also sent to east Texas during the space shuttle disaster recovery. He was in Killeen, Texas, following the Luby's massacre. He ministered to Chaplains who were at the Oklahoma City Bombing and to officers who were at the Branch Dividian Siege in Waco, Texas. Chaplain Fair, has assisted grieving families in the Stephanie Flannery Murder Case, when Ricky McGinn was convicted and put to death. He recently helped families in the violent murder of a Dallas area resident by his daughter, and the central Texas murder of a young mother by her husband when she was stabbed over 30 times. Mastering Law Enforcement Chaplaincy
Dr. Fair's wealth of experience as a police chaplain includes working with the witnesses and victims of several high profile “hot spots.” His first such assignment was to coordinate the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing for 90 employees of the Killeen (TX) Police Department after the lunchtime massacre that occurred there in 1991. More recently, he spent a week with with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey during the rescue and recovery operations at Ground Zero in the aftermath of 9-11, and counseled on-site with NASA employees involved in the grid searches of the debris field left in the wake of the Columbia explosion.
