Welcome to the "Art of Lani" online store.
Artist Statement: I believe that everyone has an artistic side, some more conventional than others, but we can all find artistic modes of expression. Art is a very relaxing, peaceful, natural thing for me, and it takes me away from the chaos of everyday life. Painting is what I was put on this Earth to do, and I find peace and happiness in being creative.
I don't believe in limiting myself to just one form of expression, although painting is my first choice. I also love to write poetry for children, using my own children as my inspiration. Please take a look at my book, "Clyde-fred & the Color of Friendship".
Inspiration comes in many different forms and when you sense it, it's best to grab hold and let the moment guide you to your next masterpiece.

Clyde-Fred and the Color of Friendship
Welcome to the world of Clyde-Fred. The teddy bear with morals.
The original Clyde-Fred was born in the early 1980's when my grandma mailed to my mother a package containing the ugliest red and orange plaid fabric I had ever seen. Her instructions were for my mom to make my sister and me some pants out of this hideous material. Needless to say, we just laughed.
My Mother decided instead to make a teddy bear for my little brother.
The name "Clyde-Fred" was given to the bear by my brother, after Clyde, my dad's boss, and Fred, my grandfather.
Over the years, our family has grown to adore the little bear. He has been a source of comfort and humor to all of us.
My kids have grown to love Clyde-Fred as much as I do, and I sincerely hope that many other children will learn the simple, yet powerful message that our colorful friend, Clyde-fred, has to pass on. After all, the world can always use a little more love.
