In 2004 I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. It felt my life had ended. At the time I was 33 and had four young children aged 1, 3, 4 and 7. I had recently got divorced and so was on my own. I hit rock bottom.
My Mum called to see me and told me of an article she had just read. It was about a lady who had found out she had a debilitating illness. Rather than give up on life, she decided to do something positive to keep her mind focussed on something other than her illness. She wrote a book. Mum knew I had toyed with the idea of writing childrens books but had never done anything about it. She suggested now was the time to give it a go. So, I did and here we are now, four years later. I always give some copies to my local primary school. The children have really enjoyed reading them and keep asking me to write more. For me, that is such a boost. I am still ill, but I am learning to live with my condition. I would encourage anyone in similar circumstances to do the same. It really is rewarding.

DREAMERS is my first book. At first I published all five books in the one larger publication. I then decided to split them up into five smaller books. Next came the hardcover version of the first all in one book. I had a request from the children at the local primary school here in Culmstock to write a smaller book, perhaps about animals! So I gave it a bit of thought and along came Bugsy's Special Event. It is already in demand at the school! I hope you enjoy reading them too!
