AAD11: Redlines

Description:

I made Redlines, my eleventh Album-A-Day (an Album-A-Day must be at least 20 minutes and written and recorded within 24 hours. See crapart.spacebar.org/aad), between 1/9/05 and 1/10/05. This one is a backlash to everything I've done in all my other AAD's. Having just acquired a brand new (awesome) keyboard--the Nord Electro--as well as a Kaoss pad, I set out to make something really loud and energetic. I accomplished this by cranking up the distortion on everything I recorded, using the Nord's distorted rhodes sound as the main instrument, as well as a palette of distorted drums, bass, melodica, and effects courtesy of the Kaoss Pad. I'm pretty happy with the results. Check it out!

Superb work for what appears to be a one-man band. The sound is very rich and full, and demands a second listening, despite the simple layout and use of a small soundset.

any chance we can get this on cd or a lossless format?

This is especially impressive since it was concieved and recorded in 24 hours. Kudos.

With his new keyboard Maxfield plays with distortion and the results are great. Track two, "Warning Signs", is a definite pop hit. It's a short listen that will have you pressing replay!
