Reminiscences of a Soldier of the Orphan Brigade [ No Rating ] 22 Feb 2006
The book Reminiscences of a Soldier of the Orphan Brigade by Lieutenant Lot D. Young is a must read for those interested in confederate civil war soldiers life in Bates Division of the Confederate Army of Tennessee. He gives one of the rarest descriptions of the Battle of Utoy Creek, Ga Aug 5-7, 1864. After reading his description of the battle one gains the feelings of the soldiers in the west during the Atlanta Campaign. The spelling is poor but is reproduced as was written by Lieutenant L.D. Young.

Regards,

Major Perry Bennett, US Army, Transportation Corps
