I thought that the book was well written and was pacy. The ideas held within were enticing and felt very realistic. The language used was coherant and well thought out, good sentence structure and descriptive without being overly so. often some good writing is too flowery with prose. This was not. Strong from the start with the ideas of freedom as a thread running through the novel from the inital few paragraphs. I did however think that the launch into the slaves domain was sudden and could be drawn out more to give the reader more of an insight into the slavers world. The passage of the girl from home to training and then to the acceptance of the lord could be expanded to explain the apparent ease at which the girl accepts the bonds of slavery after seeming to be very fiesty and lively initially to bein g submissive.
I did like the novel and would enjoy reading more of it.
