Snow Angels is an excellent book. My daughter is going to read it too. We just moved to Texas from Michigan. This story will help.

Jennifer Fox is an astounding writer of short stories for children and teenagers. Her narrative is beautiful, her stories are interesting, and they can both break and gladden the heart, sometimes in the same paragraph. 'Snow Angels' is a lovely story of a young girl in a new town, trying to make friends with other children. Her first attempts immediately throw up the exacerbated generational problems in childhood, when perhaps being too old for some kids, too young for others, and the terrible feelings of rejection and loneliness that these situations can cause, but, this story is called 'Snow Angels'. Read it for yourself and find out why. Very well done.

I can relate to the trouble lexi had at first... it can be hard enough makng new friends when you're in a section of a dormitory where everyone is the same age. At lest that was my experience. And unless i'm interpreting the end wrong you've got a bit of magic realism in there, right?

At first this seems like a simple story about a young girl who's outgoing but lacks confidence. Then you discover it's a delightful gothic. There are some minor grammatical errors and typos, such as "lied" for "lay" and "peeled" for "peered," but they don't interfere with enjoyment of the story.

A suspenseful, morality play with a twist. I've read two of this author's writings and both turned out different then what I predicted. I like that she uses a Mark Twain-ish morality play in her story's. She has wetted my apetite for her 219 page novel - The Deep - which I will read once I come off of the road.
What a fabulous story

What a fabulous story Jenn, it takeas me back to my childhood when I was teased and bullied mercilessly and rejected when I tried to make friends.
I was painfully shy, so I think I know exactly how Lexi felt. I think we could all do with some friends like the snow angels at times. Keep writing.
