First of all, I owe the author a great apology. I had purchased a couple of her books and had emailed her with a question or two. She was kind enough to answer my email, and then let me know about the original edition of this book, at that time titled "Vindicatus". She even provided me with a copy of it in MS Word format for me to review and provide her with my comments. I never did...shame on me. I hope that she will forgive me for not doing so.

I noticed recently she had significantly updated the book and renamed it to this one "Redefining Bible Interpretation". I purhcased it and simply could not put it down until I had finished it. Now for the review I owe her, and to anyone else considering buying this book...

Most of us who diligently study God's Word are familiar with the concept of "the Bible is the best interpreter of the Bible". Additionally I think that most of us would primarily practice that concept with simple cross-referencing to allow other verses to offer additional insight into the ones we're studying. The author takes this concept to a whole different level and uses the term "law of confirming" as the foundational premise of her interpretation method. I can not do it justice with just a few words, but the idea is this...

God did not write his Book to confuse us, but to instruct us in great detail. The answer to most, if not all, of those questions we always have, particularly on some of the more difficult passages, WILL be found somewhere else in his word. It's based on the FACT that God establishes His truth with at least TWO witnesses, or confirmations. The author states you will find this throughout God's Word, and she gives numerous cases and examples to support her position. In using her methods of study and interpretation, I have been overwhelmed with the truth of this!!! You will simply have to decide for yourself, but personally, I am convinced beyond any doubt. It involves diligent study (WORK), but the payoff is obviously more than worth the effort.

It's also very obvious when reading Ms. Wessel's books, what a labor of love her work is. You can feel her excitement and passion in all of her books.

I will finish with this. I have a fairly large library of Christian reference books, including many on biblical interpretation, written by some of the most famous and important authors of our time. The 4 books that I own by Dawn Wessel are my most treasured. These books have been life changing for me. I hope you will feel the same after reading them. I guarantee you this much, any book written by Ms. Wessel will ignite your passion for studying God's Word. I don't think I'm overstating it when I say I believe she has written some of the most important books that have ever been penned by anyone.

Do yourself a huge favor...buy them and read them. They're inexpensive and they're priceless!
