Gus Frank has a busy summer planned--between working as an intern at his father's Maine newspaper, managing ball pickup at the golf driving range, he barely has a moment for sleep. But when his best friend, Funboy, also known as John Francis, steals Gus's bicycle, and when Funboy's sexy girlfriend demands that Gus track him down, Funboy decides he has no choice. He's got to find his friend. Unfortunately, the more Gus investigates, the more it looks like Funboy has excellent reasons to stay hidden. The no-neck fraternity types hunting for Funboy are bad enough, but it also starts to look like Funboy was involved with something very illegal, and that he's been lying to both his girlfriend and Gus about his job. A part of Gus wants to back off, but he can't stop himself from finding out more. As he investigates, Gus learns a lot about where Funboy has been, and a lot more about himself.
