In this rousing conclusion to his Tales series, Zephyr Goza doesn't attempt to tie up all his loose ends, but rather to give us one fast paced adventure thru the Crevice world. We follow Zephyr back into the world where 360 years have passed and the rise of another Dark lord is eminent. Zephyr joins a rag tag group of Glunches as they chase a vaudeville troupe and the last prophecy across the land. Meanwhile, they are chased by a group of pirates--pirates looking for revenge. Zephyr returns in a fine form, with well crafted sentences, plenty of eye brow raising plot twists, and his usual clever turns of phrases and witty repartees in times of danger. A solid and funny end to his adventures, this book shows Zephyr's ability to build plots carefully and patiently--he doesn't spring one surprise after another. He builds the tension to a final battle scene that left me at the edge of my seat. And the last chapter, I will admit, made me cry.
Well worth the buy. I look forward to seeing his name on the New York Times list one day.
