Simpler always says it best - if you ask me - and this book of poetry that any ordinary person can enjoy, contenplate, and laugh to - is a fine examble of that! What good is writing poetry that we need a dictionary and and encyclopedia to understand! These pieces are easy to understand and DELIGHTFUL to read - and just what The Doctor ordered if you ask me to relieve your stress and strife of a hard day at work! A fine book to read a few pieces of with a beer or a glass of wine before settling down for supper or a cozy nights sleep! GOOD LUCK with it - as always! I especially enjoyed the humourous pieces - the one about heaven - the ending was perfect (LOL) and the one about the shepards sock - to mention only two.
Peace & Love!

Like the mix of humor and rhyme, it might be light verse but too much heavy verse sinks people to the bottom... this poetry is just the thing to read on any given day, it's right at any time.
Good luck!

of humour and heartbreak. It's a combination of both of these, bringing to mind lost youth, lost loves, and humour to temper the heartbreak. A wonderful mixture of poems for both young and old alike.
What a work of art! Your poems will bring a smile to everyone who reads them. This is another "good read" especially for poetry lovers. Excellent!
“These poems are funny and touching. Makes you smile and shed a tear. Worth it all the way. Keep writing.”
I enjoyed the one about the shepherds and their socks particularly. How nice to have some lulu books which have humour! I wish you the best of luck.
The introduction says it all, poems for everyone and for every mood. I read some humorous, some sad, some romantic. each one was a good piece, vibrant and descriptive. Truly a poem for everyday. Angela Hooper
This is the type of poetry that I like. This is not work that is written by just some unskilled person of the English language, but instead this work is written by someone who uses the English language very well but in a very basic way.
I love it - and as I'm a Kiwi I can relate :) It's good to see a bit of the Australasian work shine. Well done!!
I liked Shadows and Distant Enemy the best, but all of the poems in this book deserve credit. From start to finish I enjoyed reading every poem and look forward to reading more from Anne.
If light, but sometimes moderately poignant poetry is your thing, then read this preview, then buy the book. If funny verse is preferable, then buy the book! There is a simplicity to these verses which are an absolute delight. I suspect the author ( pardon me if I'm wrong ) cannot, (like me as well,) do the real heavy serious stuff like the grand-master Gopal, which Lulu is lucky to have on its books, but it doesn't matter becuase this writer shows there's quality in the lighter, jauntier style of verse. 'Trouble in Heaven' and 'While Shepherds' are my favourite from this preview. Brilliant. John Haines ( Josh Rogan )
Walking through life without poetry is like not walking through life at all. The Shift Worker is a wonderful poerty book that can capture the emotions of millions. The author of this amazing book has proved that poetry is a part of everyday life. Our love, sadness, hopes, and dreams are captured by the words in The Shift Walker Volume Two).
