I was instantly hooked to the great mix of action and description all done in a snappy style, tone and form. Phrases like 'hovering off the ground' and 'disappearing like a ghost' set within the literal and figurative fog, gave instant insight into the main character in that they gave a sense of the mysterious, most especially the sentence, 'This was just the way she liked it'.

There was terrific build up of suspense between the 'crouching man' and the 'jogging woman', the pace of which had me wanting more. Great prologue, cleverly done, unexpected!!!

So, unable to resist turning the page, the change of perspective and time kept me on my toes yet it didn't take away the sheer enjoyment of such good writing. A great way of giving 'character background' without becoming boring.

A recommended read.

Well done.

I like the majority of your dialogue, particularly snappy comebacks and one liners (which a book in this genre should have). It has a lot of promise, and your female protagonist certainly seems strong and capable of holding her own.
Good luck with your series!

at first the time switching was a little disorientating, but as I got further in, it turned out that it had me going in the right direction - further into the book! I was really very gripped by the end and... I want the sequel NOW!!!
overall, you MUST read this, unless you're Joe, in which case you MUST publish the sequel.
You have been warned. I'm not too old to throw a tantrum.

Well written and suspenseful story-telling. Has a thoughtful and clever thread telling the mindset and intense adventures of one very cool and swift hitgirl. So cool, in fact, that a coworker friend of mine wishes she was real so he could date her. But she's waaaaay out of his league. An intriguing and intelligent read, oh, and did I mention cool.

If you enjoy action with a female protagonist kicking butt you will enjoy Amanda Cross. Volume one introduces the character and provides a little history to get the reader engaged and takes off from there.

Violence in the spirit of "The Professional", plot twists, flashbacks all made for an enjoyable read. Looks like more volumes will be coming soon.

Amanda Cross is very well written. I was kept on the edge of my seat all the way till the end. I thought the ending was really good, not what you would think. I would love to see more from her.
