Description:

"I love him more than poetry... I love him more than song."
Ever since he rescued her from Certain Death, Rose Brier has had a crush on Ben Denniston, otherwise known as Fish. But Fish, struggling with problems of his own, thinks that Rose should go looking elsewhere for a knight in shining armor. Trying to forget him, Rose goes to college, takes up with a sword-wielding band of brothers, and starts an investigation into her family's past that proves increasingly mysterious. Then a tragic accident occurs, and Fish, assisted by Rose's new friends, finds himself drawn into a search through a tangle of revenge and corruption that might be threatening Rose's very life. The climax is a crucible of fear, fight, and fire that Fish must pass through to reach Rose and conquer his dragons.
The long-awaited third volume in the Snow White and Rose Red trilogy by Regina Doman, based on another well-loved Grimm's fairy tale.

Waking Rose is FANTASTIC!!! Finally someone who writes good Cathoilc literature that is exciting! I COULD NOT put this book down! "Sacra Cor!" is now my motto :) as they were my favorite characters in the book. It was not overly-mushy (I thought) and it had just the right amounts of everything. This is DEFINATLY a favorite, and I will be re-reading this for a long time now.
One other thing I really liked was how the author clears everything up in the end, and how she deals with the different problems certain characters have in the book. I also reaally liked how the author represents the romance aspect of the book - something that gets twisted around nowadays.
Fantasitic book - I just wish it was longer! It was so good I wanted to keep reading. :)

"Waking Rose" was the best book that I read this summer and it was such a pleasure! This book has drama, mystery, a very sweet, touching story of true love, and just about everything else that I can ask for in a story. I especially love the vivid, totally believable characters. I can actually visualize them and some I can see as people that I would love to know, while others remind me of horrid, nasty people that I hope never to have the misfortune to encounter. The dialogue is great, easy and realistic. There are some good comic moments in here. (Sacra Cor anyone?)I personally loved the literary references in this book! I also enjoyed the part the song "You Just Gotta Wait," got to play, though I may have the title wrong. The imagery is clear and bright. And Regina Doman's style is vibrant, colourful, and brilliant.
Really, this is just such a phenomenal book. I waited two years for this to be published (technically a lot longer) and I can honestly say that for me it was well worth the wait! I hope many more people will find it just as enchanting.
What an AWESOME Book!

I waited and prayed soooo long for this book to come out. It was definitely worth the wait. Everyone should read this book, though I recommend reading the first two books(Shadow of the Bear and Black as Night) before reading this one. Even without reading the others, this book could definitely stand on it's own feet! But to appreciate it more fully I would read the first ones before reading this fantastic book. Bear, Fish, Blanche and Rose are not just characters in a book, I feel like I know them personally. Regina Doman has really outdone herself with this book. She truly is a fantastic writer! I love her books and will always recommend these books to every teen and adult I meet! ~Claire 9/5/07

This is an incredible book! The long-awaited sequel to Shadow of the Bear and Black as Night was well worth the wait. Although there couldn't be a more satisfying conclusion to the Snow White and Rose Red trilogy, you'll be sorry to see this story come to an end. Filled with the suspense, mystery, and excitement we've come to expect from talented writer Regina Doman, this book immediately becomes a thrilling masterpiece, as well as a beautiful tale of true love. You won't be able to put this one down -I sure wasn't! ~Mae 9/5/07

I would give this book 10 stars. I had trouble putting it down, and read about the first half on a 3 hour flight I had recentely. This book is an awesome, modern telling of Grimm's story, and puts a unique twist to the telling. Regina is a talented writer who pours her soul into the telling. This is a book mothers and daughters can share and grow from. It makes me want to explore more of the part of PA I was raised in looking for the locations Regina writes about. I am certain the real locations don't exist, but to get a chance to look at some of the sites that inspired her would be awesome. Buy this book and share it with everyone who is raising children, be they little ones or even in college. I loved it. Mary
