This book is the 2nd part of the Branwen trilogy. It is much, much better than "Unkindness of Ravens" (which is also a good book). This book mainly deals with Branwen's struggle to maintain her identity while being a proper wife to Thorkell the Tall. It also focuses on her clashes with the unforgiving King Knut. King Knut is supposed to be somewhat of the antagonist, although is he is portrayed in a very fair and realistic light. You will thoroughly enjoy this book!
