Jalan is a world where offshoots of humanity have perfected psionics to the point of being 'magic.' Jalan is an Earthlike Tech Level 4 world with wheelock pistols, sailing ships, and alien 'dragons.' The Book of Jalan uses the Starcluster 2 system, like StarCluster 2 and Blood Games, a character-oriented d100 system. The magic/PSI system is free-form and skill based, with a separation of learned skills and innate power. Using PSI depletes the mage of attribute points and life points, so magic use, though powerful, is not casual. The Book of Jalan is set within the StarCluster 2 universe, and is fully compatible with that game. You can play Book of Jalan as a low-tech-high-psi SF game or as a traditional fantasy game, but the logical underpinnings are all Science Fiction.
