All I can say is WOW! I actually read this book at a friends house and then had to come on Lulu to buy a copy for myself.
I love thrillers, and this John Decker story is a great one. The concept of environmental terrorism is all the more frightening because of the reality of global warming and cooling political alliances. John Decker is one of the great flawed heroes. Like Jason Bourne and Jack Ryan, John Decker is smart, dedicated, resolved and has a personal life that would make Dante weep.




Starting out in middle america a random act of violence quickly escalates into a hot mess of craziness and this is how we meet John Decker. Out of the wreckage of that firefight John emerges and is quickly put on a case that will challange his intellectual and emotional abilities.




As a puzzle lover I was psyched to see a hero who also loves to piece things together and is addicted to codes and such. A demented killer in the middle east, a package of uranium large enough to make a nuclear bomb, an Israeli police officer, a gorgeous oceanographer and a volcano in the canary islands are pieces of this puzzle that Decker and Swensen(the love interest who actually is more than a pretty face, thank you JG Sandom!)have to put together before a catastrophe destroys millions of people.




I LOVED this book, who knew that I'd find such a great book on Lulu! JG Sandom is an actual published author with books in my local Barnes and Noble, I guess he's tired of the publishing rat race. I'm stoked he self-published. This is a great thrill ride of a read and if you liked The Bourne Series or any of Tom Clancy or James Patterson's stuff you'll love THE WAVE.




I read on a blog that it's being optioned by Hollywould! Can't wait to see the movie!

I've never read any of Sandom's books before but if they're anything like The Wave, I'm running out to buy them. Decker is a great character, resolute and yet flawed in interesting ways all at the same time. The story is relentless, and the action scenes well-crafted. A great thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. Best of all, it could all come true tomorrow. Fantastic!
