Description:A "Best practice" series document. Engineers and urban architects have entered a new discussion on how to shape the streetscape. Generally speaking this is the area between building frontages but it includes city squares and town market places as much as roads, footpaths and pedestrian precincts. The specialists want to make the streetscape more attractive for its users. One way towards this is to move away from straight-forward asphalt roads and footpaths to architecturally designed “environments” which use special materials. Examples of existing good practice can provide designers with ideas and a stimulation to develop new designs of their own. Brandenburg is Germany’s state (or ‘Land’)which surrounds the capital city of Berlin. 34 pages including covers, PDF landscape, 2.3 MB, 11 examples in standard one-per-page layout together with information on the local communities, contact details etc. Version 1.03 (minor changes) Keywords:Listed in: |
