"Our Position in Doctrine and Practice" is a Lecture delivered by Rev. Franz Pieper before the 1893 Synod of Delegates of the Synod of Missouri, Ohio and other States. Until recently, this work had only been available in the original German. This work includes both the original German text and an English translation by Kenneth Howes who has graciously permitted his work to be made available by scholia. Dr. Pieper presents a compelling case for the maintenance of pure doctrine and subsequent practice in the Church. In these days when less is suggested in the education of the Church's pastors, Dr. Pieper speaks of educating men who are prepared to present pure doctrine at all points. He also urges the faithful to challenge those who depart from pure doctrine, especially those already serving in the office.
