Women's Court Hairdressing in 12th Century Europe This is intended to be an informal workshop/demo on hairstyling techniques and accessories in 12th century Western Europe. Also covered are the frequency of each style, as well as a description of the several typical combinations of style/accessories usually found in artwork of the period. The workshop covered both three-strand and “two-strand” or ribbon bound braids, and veil styles. Also included are instructions for building a practical hair piece for wearing the knee-length braids seen in 12th century depictions of women in court dress.
