George DuBose was working in NYC as a professional music photographer and record cover art director when hip hop began. DuBose's photography and art direction with groups like Soul Sonic Force, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G. Rap and Roxanne Shanté set a style for the photos and covers of these emerging artists. This book gives an insight to how DuBose began working with these artists, how the various concepts for the artist packaging came to be and stories about the actual photo shootings.
