As a self published fantasy author myself I tend to purchase a mix of mainstream and self published titles. Sometimes I cringe at the drivel that can get out there but here we have a rare DIAMOND in the rough. A superb modern fantasy tale with a classical feel and some thoughtful handling of characters and story line. A great job Ms McIntyre! I'm off to buy book two...

Loved the first book. I agree, patience at the start is a must, since there is so much to absorb... to draw yourself into the world Debra creates for us! Some books I just cant wait to get to the end, but others are enjoyable just to read through. This is the second type. And it isnt the end! How soon will the third book be out? Cheers! T F Rice

Slow start... worth the wait. Couldn't put the book down. Intriguing suspense, mixed with vivid details, and removes the reader into the fantasy realm. Excellent read. Looking forward to picking up the next book in the trilogy. I recommend this read.
