When it comes to Science Fiction and Cyberpunk, I consider myself well versed. In a genre where most titles seem to blend together, Verastiqui manages to weave a tale that is both memorable and touching. Full of well thought out characters and exciting twists, Xronixle is a gripping, page turning adventure. Rarely do I find myself picking up a book that I just cant put down, and this is just such a tale.
Admittedly, as a jaded fan of "future" fiction, I was skeptical when starting this book. However, I quickly found myself fully immersed in the story, laughing and cringing right along with X, G, Natalie and C. I would gladly recommend this book to any science fiction fan, but I think it would be an exceptional starting point for anyone interested in delving into Cyberpunk. I look forward to reading his other works.
This book has everything any Science Fiction fan can ask for – heart-pounding action, rampant ubiquitous technology, malevolent artificial intelligences, Megacorporations, and underneath it all a human character study. I highly recommend this book if you’re a Sci-Fi fan, or just a fan of good storytelling. Freaking Awesome.
