It is a true talent to be able to write from one's heart and not let words get in the way. I especially liked the natural rhythm of the poems. The pictures added that special touch.
I admire anyone who writes poems!

You put a lot of emotion into an incredibly emotional genre. It makes up for the lack of rhyme, which I think the main thing in poetry, but you are the author - and this free verse is your way to express your feelings: my congratulations!

About the most difficult thing to communicate are feelings, for you are trying to describe something so subjective into objective wordage. Some people, though, are better able to relate the subjective than others. Johnna, in this book of poetry of hers, does a pretty good job at doing this. Throughout this work she brings the reader on a
trip of soul searching via exploring feelings- the central theme of this book seems to be that something is always 'missing' from ones life (a loved one, companionship, strength, redemption) and needs to be addressed. There are a few poems that deviate from the theme; one of
my personal favorites, 'Upside Down', is a notable poem about the changing of perspectives. 'Resurrection' almost rhymatically relates to the reader the power of music.
But others like my favorites- 'Pawn' (relates the sense of incompleteness), 'Into You' (desire for companionship), and 'Across the River' (sense of longing) all relate or stick to the works central theme. I must admit that, at first, I was gonna give a review short one 'thumbs up' only because a lot of the material and style I dont relate to. But, what must be further noted about this work is that it is illustrated with original artwork. The artwork throughout the book gives the eyes a nice rest before proceeding to the next poem. It
works- enough for the missing thumbs up!
Great poems!

Very nice job, Johnna. Your poems are beautiful. You are a very spiritual person. Your poems express who you are and what you feel. You have lovely artwork included as well. Great Job.
