She grew up in a world populated by young drug addicts, the younger siblings of the Sixties generation. She spent her first six years with a young man whom she called Dad, and many years after running from him and his ghost while taking baby steps in a developing relationship with her reluctant birth father. In the midst of drug house after drug house filled with strangers, she acted as guardian for her young mother and younger siblings.
