Description:

Breakfast Blooms, a Muskoka B&B Cookbook with Folklore, was nurtured by owners Gaye and George and encouraged to grow by guests from around the world who nestled down at Woodland Springs close to world famous Algonquin Park. Recipes with creativity, blossomed into a 50 item menu offered to guests daily, enticing them to return. They did, again and again. Soon guests lively experiences grafted with cottage folklore and became one...all belonging to this dear old place. A Mennonite background of slow cooking tradition, housed in an historic century old family cottage, gave birth to these Muskoka originals.

What a wonderful & informative book! I first heard about it from friends & have since bought 4 copies to spread the word about this excellent find. The Musselmans make the history & locale come alive & the recipes are fabulous! Only wish we'd visited their B&B before they closed recently. Hope you sell a million!

Gaye and George have written a fantastic book (Breakfast Blooms) that captures the warmth, friendship, family, history and gorgeous food they share at their heritage home on Penlake in Muskoka. When you pick up the book you will feel as if you are a welcome friend and guest sharing delightful stories and food. Illustrated with everything from family moments to professional photos of the awesome lake, you will always feel welcome. The book is a treasure and one you will want to share with your friends.

It was wonderful to receive my order of this wonderful book. Our family had the opportunity to be guests at Woodland Springs and enjoy many of these breakfast delights. They were all unique and unlike anything we had tasted at other Bed and Breakfast establishments. We are thrilled to have the recipes so that we can attempt to recreate these wonderful breakfast treats. As well we enjoyed reading about the history of the area and the Musselman family. The pictures were beautiful and certainly captured the scenic vistas one enjoyed from the porch, gazebo or boathouse. The hospitality of George and Gaye Musselman made this a memorable vacation for all of our family. This book was a welcome Christmas gift for all of us who have had the pleasure of being at Woodland Springs. Joanne and Ken Atkinson, St. Catharines, Ontario.

Our children and grandchildren have visited Woodland Springs in Muskoka many times and have experienced the beauty of Penlake, the warm hospitality of Gaye and George Musselman and tasted the delicious cuisine prepared with love by Gaye. Now in BREAKFAST BLOOMS, I can read about the history of the Musselman family at Penlake and best of all, I get the secret to all Gaye's scrumptious recipes. I just hope I can make them taste as delectable as Gaye does.
Anyone who knows Muskoka will love this book and everyone who would like to prepare breakfasts 'to die for' MUST get this book. Thank you Gaye and George for sharing your stories and your recipes.
