This book is my celebration of the work of my father as a war hero during the Second World War in China and my mother as an accomplished writer of autobiographical memoirs. Part I and Part II of this book contain my translation, respectively, of writings of my father and mother. Part III of the book has two eassys to celebrate the work of several of my heroes: John Robbins, Father Damien, Si Ma Qian, Charles Vest and Richard Stallman. To me, they are like rare fragrant orchid flowers, not that well known, but were quietly giving out their beauty and fragrance in some hidden valley, hence the title of the book.
