Description:

Play the game inspired by the Mahabharata and the King of Elfland’s Daughter; the Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Contes du Temps Passé and the Thousand and One Nights; the Brothers Grimm and Baba Yaga. Assume the role of fairy-tale characters--from the classic enchantments of Perrault or Fontaine, to modern tales the likes of Mirrormask to Fables, Labyrinth to Neverwhere. Your character will enjoy abilities well beyond those of the Mortals telling their stories--the only limit is your imagination.

Seven Leagues uses a simple system of character creation based on words and narration. If you have a little imagination, can write a grocery list and add to 13, you can make a character in about 5 minutes. Roll 13, Seven Leagues’ elegant action system, rewards good descriptions, not nitpicking over complex rules. Includes sample characters, Provinces, Antagonists, 3 adventures. THIS EDITION HAS B&W INTERIOR ART.

A great non-traditional role playing experience! [ No Rating ] 29 Dec 2005
Seven Leagues is a RPG that immerses players in the world of Fairy Tales. It is a bold step away from traditional fantasy RPGs (which, actually, seem to contain very little fantasy). Fantasy is the watchword here and players are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild.

I had the pleasure to play a game run by the game's creator. With imaginative players and Narrator, Seven Leagues provides a foot-loose, epic, fairy-tale adventure. Definitely a nice break from traditional Rule Playing Games. I strongly recommend giving Seven Leagues a look!

This fine piece of writing & gamedesign aims at putting the participants into the shoes of fairytale characters, with a distinct sense of the weird, the wonderful and the woeful (not to mention the hilarious).
The mechanics are light yet evocative and intuitive, significantly more so than in the vast majority of available products.
All in all, it is a bold departure from run-of-the-mill fantasy gaming, a respectful homage to the fairytale genre (literary criticism is a natural, painless part of the actual practice) and a great human experience.
Seldom will the expression "good, clean fun" be more appropriate.
