I couldn't stop turning the pages as I was reading Asian Americana by Ian Liu. Ian has this great ability in using the Asian stereotypical issues and made them funny and thought provoking. I finished the book awhile ago, but I still go through it and still find it stimulating. Great, great job Ian!! Asian American community needs more people like you bro!!
This compilation of comic strips is not just entertaining comic relief. It also offers insightful, humorous, and revealing commentary on stereotypes and their effects on Asian and non-Asian Americans, young and old. Unlike most other Asian American artists, Ian Liu takes the bull by the horns and raises the social consciousness of both children and adults on the subject of assimilation and perceptions of minorities in America. I recommend this book for all Americans as it is a unique and enlightening read. Great job Ian!
