"You should be congratulated on the exhaustive history you produced. It will be a valuable contribution to the history of the community in Chattanooga. The stories on Paige and Jenkins and Willie Mays are also very interesting. It will be a good resource for our library."

If you’re a fast reader, you can read this in a day, but there’s a lot of information in here: a tremendous amount of information in here.” – Jeff Styles, host of “FRED the Show” on WGOW 102.3 FM in Chattanooga – April 7, 2006

“If you’re a baseball fan at all – really, you don’t even have to be a baseball fan. If you’re just a fan of Chattanooga, the history in this is amazing. It’s really, really good reading. My favorite section is the famous names that played for the Lookouts throughout the years, and then the section called ‘Versus’ – the legendary rivals – and you’re talking about Bret Boone, Scott Brosius, Jose Canseco, (Jason) Giambi, Marquis Grissom, Bo Jackson – the list is ten miles long!”
- Scott "Quake" McMahen, host of SportTalk on 102.3 FM, WGOW, "The Talk Monster" in Chattanooga
