This is an excellent book for DE beginners. It is well-organized, provides clear and simple explanations for best practices, etc. I would use this is a supplemental text in a first-year college-level course. Alone it's not quite enough but it is a very good beginning.

An excellent set of readings on distance education. Is extremely helpful in clarifying the learner/learning and how essential it is that distance education programs be strongly focused this way. Though technology is important there must still be the strongest focus on the learner.

A great book that I will find very useful in my work as an educator - well done!
