It’s ironic. Those that stock piled food and set up defenses or fled to the hills were ridiculed and considered crazy or stupid. Now we all know it was the smartest thing to do. I wasn’t the ‘smartest’ guy around. I did my fair share of finger pointing and laughing at the ‘crazies’. But eventually, once when the facts started to slap me round the face I went with my gut instinct and placed myself in the fast lane of ridicule. Lucky for me I had a ‘smart’ family and some ‘smart’ neighbors and it wasn’t a moment too soon. The proverbial shit was about to hit the fan in the most spectacular and devastating way. The day I became one of the ‘smart’ ones, I started a diary. Later on, as I wanted to leave something for generations to come of our own personal struggle it became more of a story or transcript if you will. This is that story.
