Description:

At 16, Danny Tillman’s life has been anything but ordinary. Abandoned by his mother, abused by his bitter and heartless father, his life was just starting to get back on track when his best friend, Allie, commited suicide. After her death, Danny is haunted by the anger and guilt he feels over her suicide; feeling somehow responsible, as if he should have been able to stop her. A few days after Allie’s death he begins having vivid dreams; nightmares which leave him physically drained, his mind in turmoil. For Danny, the worst part of the dreams is how real they seem. He finds himself in places he’s certain he’s been to, witnessing things that couldn’t possibly be real, and speaking to a demon who he knows only as Rathmon, the Shapeshifter. He’s certain that the dreams, no doubt born of his guilt over Allie, are just that; until the morning he awakens to discover that his dream of a man murdered on a snow-covered road, ripped apart by an unknown force, is all too real.

I loved the quick pace of the story and it reminded me of Stephen King and James Patterson. Also, I thought that it was great page turner. I couldn't stop reading from the beginning to the end. And yet everything was very clear. I felt that I was there in almost every scene. Very suprising read.

Good Story! by SylverSlayer

I really enjoyed this book; it kept my attention from start to finish. The characters in the book were well drawn and I particularly liked Laura. She sounded like one hot babe, let me tell you! A lot of times I thought I knew how things were going to turn out and they happened completely different. I was really surprised by the ending because it was not at all like I imagined (or even kind of hoped for). I recommend this book to everyone except for young kids, who will probably be freaked by some of the more gruesome scenes.

Very well-written, and very well described, this book would make a great film. Suspense and horror make it a great read!
Great work!

Evil Inheritance: Possesion of Young by bestow

This novel was an unexpectedly good read, reminiscent of early Stephen King or Peter Straub. Fast paced; the story flowed smoothly between the vantage points of the three main characters, never leaving you in any one place long enough to bore. There’s an undercurrent of the macabre here, and a sense of mild disquiet, that kept me turning the pages long after I intended to turn out the lights. I’d very much like to see a sequel (what became of Danny and Laura?), or even a prequel (I’d love to know more about Gretchen and Rathmon), to this book. A most impressive first novel and one I believe would make an excellent foundation for an entire series.
