For the child who needs a great big hug from God ... for the adult who has lost their way. Follow Keegan on this chase of self discovery and renewal ...

A wonderful book for kids, a great book for adults. I think this book is for everyone who has ever felt alone, not part of the crowd ... has ever faced a low self esteem ... or one of thse "no good, very bad days" ...

A clever book full of truth and hope.

We all know that our shadow was created by God in our image. But did you ever stop to think that we were created in God's image? We should try to be more like Him, in other words, we should be His shadow.

For Keegan Windsor, it has been a long time since he was God's shadow. In fact, he doesn't even notice God anymore. He is leading a life, alone in the world. Kids bully him in school, and it seems that no one wants to be with him. Yet he fails to notice those who do.

That evening, Keegan is awakened by someone very unusual in his room. He follows out into the street, only to discover that the thing he is chasing is his very own shadow. And his shadow doesn't want to be caught.

Keegan discovers that the only reason his shadow left him is because Keegan has become someone entirely different. His now non-existent relationship with God has changed him, for the worst. Can Keegan get his shadow back? Or is he doomed to spend the rest of his life, shadowless? There's only one way to find out. My Shadow Is Missing" by Kristen Halter and Kevin Scott Collier tells the story of 10-year old Keegan, a boy so depressed by being bullied at school, he wants to hide out in his room. But that night a curious visitor appears beckoning Keegan to follow. On his mysterious excursion, he learns he should turn to God because He is always there - just like his shadow. Realistic dialogue and lots of action spur the story on at a good pace, and is sure to keep children reading to see how Keegan fares. Recommended reading!

Can life really get so bad that even your shadow doesn't want to hang around? That's what happened to Keegan in "My Shadow is Missing." This is a thought provoking story about what can happen when we turn from God and follow a path of despair and destruction. Poor Keegan was so depressed, his own shadow couldn't stand being around him.

Keegan learns through chasing his shadow and talking to him that he needs to be God's shadow, after all, he was made in His image and likeness. No matter how bad things get, God is always with us and will take care of us. The message is clear and caused me to sit back and ponder a few things myself. Where is God in my life? Am I God's shadow? Do I reflect his image to the world?

Filled with lots of action and dialogue this story certainly doesn't preach to the reader. It uses humor and a likable main character, Keegan to show kids how to turn to God for help, guidance and his unconditional love.

No one wants to lose their shadow and certainly no one want to lose their relationship with God. This book is thought provoking and a good reminder to children that they can always count on God.
