Ten year old Kari Douglas has always wished for something exciting to happen in her life, but she never expected anything like the power to stop time – for just one minute. At first, everything about this new power is a blessing – an extra minute to finish a test or when she is running late, never losing at hide-and-seek, and using her power to save her little brother’s birthday party. But this ability doesn’t come without consequences. Never mind that her best friend won’t even look at her since she told her about this new power. When the meanest kid in school finds out about her power he threatens to tell the entire worlds about it, unless she uses it to do his bidding.
